The Everlasting scratch card from Betfair is a sweet twist on a classic scratch card. Just like Willy Wonka’s famous gobstopper, developed for “children with very little pocket money” this card can be enjoyed for modest stakes of only £1.
So what can you expect from this innovative scratch card? Well, let me explain. Betfair has taken the traditional scratch card format and given it a delicious sugary coating in the form of ‘Everlasting’ wins.
If a player matches three winning symbols, the card will automatically regenerate and could produce further wins! and while these aren’t technically ‘Everlasting’, they do cascade, creating multiple big payouts.
The theme of the game borrows heavily from Charlie and the Chocolate factory film and book franchise. Obviously, the name of the game is a play on the ‘Everlasting Gobstopper.’
Visually the card looks glorious, a cartoon man in a top hat welcomes you to play. In the background, a vista of candy canes and chocolate rivers stretches across the screen. My favourite aspect of this game is the jaunty soundtrack. I usually turn off the music while playing scratch cards online. However, I enjoyed this little ditty, although you do get the option to mute the music.

As I mentioned earlier, you can play the game for £1 or ramp up the stakes to £10. My budget is more ‘Charlie’ than ‘Mr Wonka’ so I played for the minimum stakes. The maximum jackpot on offer is 50,000x your stake level – sweet! Smaller prizes of 5x, 10x, 25x, 50x and 500x are also up for grabs.
Overall, I liked this scratchcard, and I would recommend you give it a go. However, I played for ten minutes and spent around £20. In that space of time, I only managed to win a few smaller prizes (£1 and £2). Maybe I was unlucky? Who knows? Having said that I could not find any official information on the RTP (return to player) ratio. This could suggest that the game has a lower than usual RTP.
