Finding a great scratchcard with a huge jackpot at a reasonable price is not as easy as you think. With £10 scratchcards no longer in circulation in the UK, the most you can now pay for one in a shop is £5.
And that’s exactly how much the 2 Million Blue scratchcard costs. But is it worth it?
How To Play 2 Million Blue Scratch Card?
If you’ve decided to buy a national lottery scratchcard as a little treat to yourself, then, of course, you will want to know how to play it.
We all know that you need to scratch the panels in order to reveal the symbols, and hopefully, that wins you some cash.
However, these days scratchcards can be a little overwhelming as more and more bonus games get added.
We’re not complaining, of course, as more games equal more chances of winning, but we also understand that some of them are not very straightforward.
The first thing you need to know about the 2 Million Blue scratchcard is that there are five play areas on it.
Each has its own designated spot, look and feel and this is how you play them.
Game 1: This is on the left-hand side of the scratch card, directly below the header. It is a panel with four gold money bags on it.
All you have to do is scratch the panel away and find the National Lottery symbol – the crossed fingers – to win. There are four chances in this game.
Game 2: This is directly next to Game 1 and has three rows with gold pound coin symbols on it.
Each row has a ‘Yours’ number and a ‘Theirs’ number. If your number is larger than their number, you win.
Game 3: This is the biggest game on the card and can find in the middle with sparkling diamonds all over it.
There are eight chances to win here, and all you have to do is match one of your symbols to either of the winning symbols (left-hand side).
Game 4: This is located on the bottom left-hand side of the card and is covered in gold coins.
Here you have three rows, and in each, there are two numbers. If, on any row, your numbers add up to TEN, then you win a prize.
Game 5: This is located at the bottom right-hand side of the £2 Million Blue scratchcard and has images of £50 notes on it.
Again we have three rows, and the idea is to match two identical symbols to win a prize. The symbols must be on the same row.
Overall you have 21 chances to win a prize on the £2 Million Blue scratch card.
What Is The Jackpot Prize On 2 Million Blue Scratchcard?
The top prize on offer for the 2 Million Blue scratchcard is £2 million.
Only four cards in circulation from the initial run, have that prize.
The next biggest prize available is £10,000. This is a pretty poor second prize especially when you consider that there are only four of them to be won.
So, in a crazy twist, you have the same odds of winning £2 million as you do of winning £10K.
The National Lottery can definitely do better than that!
Chances Of Winning On 2 Million Blue Scratchcard
According to the National lottery, there is a 1 in 3.19 overall chance of winning a prize on the 2 Million Blue scratchcard.
The lowest prize on offer is £5 but with over 11 different potential cash prizes, the amount you can win reaches a whopping £2 million.
Now before you get too excited, I should point out that from the staggering 22,952,820 2 Million Blue scratchcards printed in the initial run, only four contained the top prize.
So the reality is that you have around one in 5.76 million chance of scooping the top prize. That is one of the worst cards for chances of winning the jackpot.
I should also point out that the card boasts ‘Over £80 Million In Total Cash Prizes’, but a quick calculation says that if they sell all the cards they will actually take in £114, 764, 100. That’s a hefty profit of over £34 million.
I know they have to pay for the cards, pay the shopkeepers etc…but still!
And you have a much better shot at bagging a smaller amount of £5 as there are over 2.8 million of them in circulation.
Like all scratchcards, the higher the potential prize, the less chance you have of winning it.
But don’t let that stop you because somebody does have to win the top jackpot prize and there’s no reason why that cannot be you!
How Many Prizes Left On 2 Million Blue Scratchcard?
As we’ve already mentioned, the 2 Million Blue scratchcard has four top prizes of £2,000,000.
At the time of writing this and according to the National Lottery, three of those top prizes are still waiting to be won.
You can claim on a winning card even after they have gone out of circulation. Any money won must be claimed before the end of the 180th day after the closing date of the relevant game.
Bonus Games On The 2 Million Blue Scratchcard
As far as bonus games go, this scratchcard has none of them. Then again the card already has 21 chances to win.
But if it is bonus games that you are after, you might be better trying some online scratchcards which do have extra bonus games, increasing your chances of bagging a prize.
Quite often their jackpots are also bigger than those available on the high street.
